flag usa YOUR HISTIO STORY

I am looking for similarities
in all individual cases of
Histiocytic diseases.
I wonder if we all tell our
stories we might come up
with some commonality
between the specific
situations in which all of
our pets got this disease.
So please email me the
details and I'll put your
pets story on Shelley's
Histio Website

flag nl UW HISTIO VERHAAL

Ik ben op zoek naar
overeenkomsten in alle
individuele gevallen van
Histiocytose.
Ik hoop dat wanneer wij
onze Histio verhalen
vertellen, wij overeen-
komsten ontdekken over
de manier waarop onze
huisdieren deze ziekte
hebben opgelopen.
Stuur mij de details en
ik zal het verhaal van uw
huisdier op de Histio
website van Shelley zetten.

Kelly

Histiocytic Sarcoma

Scottish Terrier
Female
date of birth unknown - April 7, 2007
leash

Story told by Laura-Marie

My beloved 7 year old scottie died on Saturday April 7, 2007 from histiocytic sarcoma. Kelly only took ill on Monday, had her spleen removed on Tuesday, the tumor was only on her spleen. No other tumors. The doctors were hopeful she would recover and survive for a while longer with 4 doses of chemo. Kelly was eating and performing all her body functions well. But, at 1 AM on Saturday, she threw up, difficult breathing and her heart stopped. We had the doctors do everything they could. We all are grieving. Kelly has never been sick with anything. This is the worst, most dreadful thing any beloved member of a family can get.

I pray someday, there will be better blood screen tests that can discover this silent killer before it is too late.
